Interview with Seydou Keita
Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo had the honour to interview the Barcelona’s midfielder Seydou Keita. Here’s what he said.
Q: What do you think about the rotations Guadilo is putting you through? You are not a regular starter.
A: I arrived here last summer and it’s neccessary for me to adapt to everything here. I think that no Barca player can consider himself as a regular, because there is rotation all the time.
Q: You played as a leftback defender against Getafe, although your natural position is in the midfield?
A: I was surprised too about that. The coach just said that I need to play there because I am the only player left-footed and I did. It worked out well.
Q: Do you like when people call you Keite or Keita?
A: Keita is my last name. But in Catalan, it’s Keite. Puyol calls me Keite, for example. I don’t care.
Q: Which Barcelona player in the past do you like?
A: Romario and Stoickov. They were great.
Q: What do you think about Guardiola’s 4-3-3 tactics?
A: It’s a very attack-minded approach where you have to be very concentrated, cover your playmates, run, defend, attack… It works well and I like it.
